서울공예박물관 개관특별전 《공예, 시간과 경계를 넘다》는 광복 이후 전개된 한국 현대공예의 흐름과 다양한 가능성을 조명한 전시입니다.

금속, 섬유, 옻칠 등 여러 분야의 공예가들이 참여한 이번 전시는 전통의 계승과 새로운 재료 및 기술의 실험, 그리고 현대적 삶 속에서의 공예의 역할을 함께 살펴보았습니다.

납청유기는 오랜 시간 이어져 온 방짜유기 제작기술을 바탕으로 전통과 현대를 연결하는 작업을 선보이며, 오늘날에도 확장되고 있는 공예의 가능성을 함께 보여주었습니다.

Craft, Moving Beyond Time and Boundaries

Presented as part of the opening exhibition of the Seoul Museum of Craft Art, Craft Beyond Time and Boundaries explored the evolution of contemporary Korean craft since Korea’s liberation.

Bringing together works in metal, textile, and lacquer, the exhibition examined how craftspeople have continued to reinterpret tradition through new materials, techniques, and ways of living.

Through works rooted in the long tradition of Bangjja Yugi, Napcheong reflected on the ongoing dialogue between heritage and contemporary practice, highlighting the evolving possibilities of craft today.
