2022 국가무형문화재 이수자 전시

덕수궁 덕홍전에서 열린 《희원의 공간》은 전통 문양에 담긴 기원과 바람의 의미를 현대적으로 풀어낸 전시입니다.

궁궐의 단청과 전통 문양을 재해석한 공간 안에는 다양한 전승공예품이 함께 소개되었으며, 함녕전 행각에서는 전승공예의 맥을 이어가는 이수자들의 작품이 전시되었습니다.

왕실의 권위와 위엄을 상징하던 문양부터 복을 기원하고 액운을 물리치고자 했던 옛사람들의 바람까지. 이번 전시는 전통 문양과 공예품을 통해 오늘날에도 이어지는 희원의 의미를 되새겨보는 자리가 되었습니다.

Heewon: Wishes Embodied in Patterns

Deokhongjeon Hall and Hamnyeongjeon Gallery, Deoksugung Palace

Held at Deoksugung Palace, A Space of Wishes reinterpreted the meanings of hope, blessing, and protection embedded in traditional Korean motifs through a contemporary lens.

Set within a space inspired by palace patterns and dancheong decoration, the exhibition brought together a diverse range of traditional crafts, while the surrounding galleries featured works by emerging successors of Korea’s craft traditions.

From symbols of royal authority to motifs expressing wishes for prosperity and protection, the exhibition reflected on the enduring meanings carried within traditional patterns and their continued relevance today.
