한국 공예의 동시대적 가능성을 소개하는 자리에서 납청유기는 생활 기물의 영역을 넘어선 새로운 조형 작업을 선보였습니다.

유기로 제작된 제단 위에는 과실, 향, 꽃, 불, 눈물을 상징하는 오브제가 놓였으며, 오르고 받치고 드높이는 과정을 하나의 풍경처럼 풀어냈습니다.

이번 작업은 일상 속 쓰임을 중심으로 이어져 온 방짜유기의 가능성을 확장하며, 공예가 지닌 상징성과 조형적 언어를 탐구한 시도였습니다.

Presented as part of the 2022 Milan Design Week Korean Craft Exhibition, Napcheong showcased a sculptural work that expanded beyond the realm of functional objects.

A series of symbolic forms representing fruit, fragrance, flowers, fire, and tears were placed upon a Yugi altar, creating a landscape inspired by the acts of rising, supporting, and elevating.

The work explored the symbolic and sculptural language of Bangjja Yugi, extending its possibilities beyond everyday use while reimagining the role of craft in a contemporary context.
