《장, 식탁으로 이어진 풍경》

‘장(醬)’으로 시작되는 한국 전통 음식을 만들고 맛보는 데 쓰이는 식도구를 제작하기 위해, 옛날에 사용되던 주방 도구들을 연구했습니다. 전통 방식 그대로 손으로 두드리고 깎아 만든 이 도구들은 울퉁불퉁한 결을 그대로 살려, 손맛과 정성을 고스란히 담으려 했습니다.

올해 아름지기 기획전은 ‘장’이라는 주제를 통해 한국 식문화를 입체적으로 조망합니다.

장은 음식의 맛은 물론 삶의 공간, 일상의 도구, 계절의 흐름까지 아우릅니다.

우리의 문화적 정체성과 단단히 연결되어, 여전히 현재진행형인 식문화 속 감각과 정서를 

다채로운 풍경으로 만나보시기 바랍니다.

Landscape of Jang: From Fermentation to the Table

Arumjigi Special Exhibition 2025

This exhibition explored the role of jang—Korea's traditional fermented sauces—as a foundation of Korean food culture and everyday life.

Drawing inspiration from traditional kitchen tools once used in the preparation and serving of food, the exhibition brought together contemporary works that reflect the craftsmanship, rituals, and seasonal rhythms surrounding the Korean table.

Through objects, materials, and stories connected to jang, visitors were invited to experience the cultural landscape that continues to shape Korean dining today.
